Three days trekking from the centre of spectacular Muong Hoa valley up and down hills you will challenge your feet with hard trekking while enjoying beauty of nature, meeting and making acquaintance to tribal peoples from different ethnic groups to enrich your knowledge with different culture and way of life. You also have chance to experience peoples and especially their hospitality while staying two nights in their homes.

Itinerary

Night 1: Hanoi - Lao Cai by Train
You will be picked up from your hotel lobby by our representative at 20:00 for a short transfer to Hanoi Railway Station for boarding to Lao Cai by Express Train leaving at 21:10.
Overnight in the A/C soft sleeper wooden cabin (4 people/ cabin or 2 people/ cabin on request).

Day 1: Lao Cai - Sapa - Visit 3 ethnic villages (B, L, D)
Sapa market | The old cathedral | Y Linh Ho | Lao Chai | Ta Van village

6:00 AM - Arrive to Lao Cai train station. Welcome by your local guide and driver. Take a drive of 40km for over an hour drive uphill to Sapa. After freshen up and Breakfast in a local restaurant you will enjoy a free walk around this charming town, paying visit to Sapa market and the old cathedral where you can meet a lot of local ethnic minority peoples such as Black H’mong and Red Zao wearing their traditional colorful dresses selling their farming and gathering products and handicrafts for souvenir. 
Back to our Sapa office at about 10.30 and begin your exploration trip to Muong Hoa valley. You will follow the main road heading south for about an hour before turning right to a foot path down hill to Muong Hoa Valley. This part offers spectacular scenery of the highest part of Hoang Lien Son mountain range and in a nice day, Fansipan Peak can be seen. Crossing the river by a suspension bridge you will challenge your feet uphill to Y Linh Ho village. Here you will pay visiting to some H’mong families, watching them doing their daily works. 
After picnic Lunch, the trail continues up and down hill for about 2 hours as you reach to Lao Chai, a large village of the H’mong and then following the river bank to Ta Van of the Zay people. Paying visiting to local homes, village schools… you will enjoy much your cultural discovery of local ethnic peoples as well as breathtaking scenery of the Muong Hoa Valley. Tonight you will enjoy a home stay in Ta Van Village for an unique life experience.


Night 2: Overnight at Homestay
Meals included: Breakfast at local restaurant. Picnic Lunch and Dinner at Homestay

Day 2: Ta Van - Giang Ta Chai - Su Pan - Ban Ho Village (B, L, D)
Leaving Ta Van village after Breakfast and following the foot path uphill, you will pass through impressive terraced rice paddies on the hill slopes before getting through a bamboo forest, a huge waterfall to Giang Ta Chai village of the Red Zao peoples. Walking around the village you will meet many women with their embroidery work to make their traditional dresses, occasionally you can see the blacksmiths making farming tools and even hunting riffles. Passing the Muong Hoa river again and then trek uphill to Su Pan village passing the rocks field with unique carving which is believed to be the messages of the ancient peoples. In this village you will see the special technique to build houses on the steep rocky land. From Su Pan trekking downhill for an hour, Ban Ho valley will open wide in your sight. Arriving to Ban Ho of the Tay minority late in the afternoon, check in the spacious local house built on stilts for Dinner and Homestay. After dinner, resting or chatting with the local family to learn their customs and daily life…

Night 3: Overnight at Homestay
Meals included: Breakfast at Homestay.
Picnic Lunch and Dinner at Homestay

Day 3: Ban Ho Village - Sapa (B, L, -)
Breakfast with the family and leave the village for a waterfall discovered by French people. Enjoy the view, swimming (depending on the season) and return to Ban Ho to visit the people in the village. Say goodbye to the family and get up to the main road where to take transfer back to Sapa town. Dinner will be on your own. In the evening you have free time to explore Sapa town at night.

Night 4: Overnight at hotel in Sapa town


Meals included: Breakfast at Homestay. Lunch on the way and Dinner on your own

Day 4: Cat Cat Village - Sapa - Lao Cai - Night train to Ha Noi (B, L, -)
Breakfast at Hotel. You will be picked up at your hotel lobby then depart for a walk to Cat Cat village locating near the bottom of a deep valley at the foot of Fansipan Peak. Spectacular scenery of mountains and terraced rice paddies changes after every corner as you walk downhill. Getting through Cat Cat village of the H’mong, you will pay visiting to some local homes, witnessing their daily life activities and experiencing their hospitability. Continue walking down to the valley bottom, having a break at a stunning waterfall where the French built a hydraulic power station, you will walk uphill and make a loop around the valley and get back to Sapa. 
Check out time is on or before 12.00 (noon). Lunch to be arranged in a local restaurant. After lunch you are free at leisure to explore the town until transfer to Lao Cai railway station to catch the overnight train back to Hanoi leaving at 20:15. 

Night 5: Overnight in the A/C soft sleeper wooden cabin (4 people/cabin or 2 people/cabin on request).


Meals included: Breakfast at hotel and Lunch at local restaurant. Dinner on your own


Arrival in Hanoi around 5:00 AM next day. You will be picked up at Hanoi station and walk to our Hotel - Hanoi View 2 Hotel (5 minutes walking) for breakfast and short rest. Check out time is on or before 12.00 (noon)

- This tour package can be fully customizable to fit your Sapa travel plan. You can also disregard full package tours and choose whatever travel items you need. We can quote the tours you really want. Usually travel insurance is not covered in our quotations.
- Keep your luggage and money by yourself.
- Inform in advance if you are vegetarian.
- Take original passports, good and comfortable trekking shoes, insect repellent, torches, sun scream, towels, rain gear and extra warm clothes. All customers must obey the order of your guide for your safety.
